Which side will you start from, and where will either lead?
content to suffer is a 36-page passion project from the author of 61 Central and The Vessel of the Now and, like both of those chaps, nothing like either collection. From the moment it’s picked up and upended, as all readers do, there’s a noticeable difference and hopefully a sense of unease. (Okay, maybe it is not entirely dissimilar to 61 Central and The Vessel of the Now.) A choice brings the reader to a question: is this a mistake? But those willing to read on, read in(to), and re-read each bookend in its redirected voice discover the paths. And the paths make all the difference. Don’t they?
That’s all that you’re gonna get out of me (the author), except the poems, and, I guess, all they mean to you. The rest is all up to you, including purchasing the book, reading the book, having feelings about the poems in the book and the book, reviewing the book, and recommending the book to a bazillion friends who then decide they need their own copy.
