Setlists

About this project:
Selling books, in this economy?! It can be tough, especially if you’re trying to get a press to invest in poems that have been collecting digital dust for years and years and, in some cases, years. As a stop-gap measure, I thought, “Why not just make micro-chapbooks out of setlists”? That way people in the audience who really connect with the poems I spit on stage can take those transformative word-strings home for whatever they want to pay. (Making these is super cheap, and admittedly, the production materials are far from the best quality.)

Since I do not sign books as a matter of personal rebellion against ego (my poems are my signature, my name means nothing), each front page gets personalized in red pen with the venue, date, and something fun to finish the title. The TOC lists where the poems have been or will be and in some cases what version it is to help eager readers find the poem(s) in proper collections later on.

But I also got to thinking, why not make the orations available for people to relive? These are breathing documents, after all; poems printed therein may not be in their final form, and I may have flubbed/improvised something that will never be experienced again. So thank you once again if you bought a book and landed here. And if you’ve yet to buy one of these micro-chaps, look for them next time I’m in your area. Either way, enjoy!

And, you know, if you should feel like dropping a buck or two (or whatever) for being able to read and listen to these poems, my Venmo’s right here.
